United FC Hands Old Boys Defeat in Tournament’s Second Round

United FC secured an important victory in the Over 35 Cup Football Tournament after defeating Old Boys 2-1 on September 4th. The match, held at Ambergris Stadium, kicked off at 7:30PM with Old Boys controlling possession. The team entered the game among the leaders in the tournament standings and had proven to be one of the competition’s strongest sides.

Community Run Opens Suicide Awareness Month

Fourteen people participated in a suicide awareness run organized by Coach Kian Trejo of the San Pedro Town Council Sports Department on Tuesday, September 1st. The event began at the southern end of the San Pedrito Highway and ended at Central Park, marking the start of Suicide Awareness Month.

Old Boys and E & L FC Continue Leading Over 35 Cup

Another round of matches in the Over 35 Football Tournament saw Old Boys FC and E & L FC continue their strong performances, with both teams securing victories during Week 6. The matches, held on August 28th at the Ambergris Stadium, started at 7PM with Old Boys taking on San Mateo FC. Old Boys dominated from the opening minutes, quickly finding the back of the net. San Mateo attempted to respond through their midfield, but Old Boys maintained control and doubled their lead. From there, the goals continued as Old Boys gave San Mateo few opportunities to respond.

San Pedro Pirates Draw 1-1 Against Port Layola

After winning two consecutive games at home, the San Pedro Pirates traveled to Belmopan on August 30th to face Port Layola in their first away game of the Premier League of Belize (PLB) Opening Season. The Week 5 match took place at the Football Federation of Belize (FFB) Stadium, where both teams battled to a 1-1 draw.

Reef Sports wrapped up its summer youth football tournament on August 22nd, concluding nearly two months of matches that began during the first week of July. National Sports Council holds public consultation on new National Sports Policy

The National Sports Council of Belize (NSC) held its fourth public consultation on Wednesday, August 12th, at 11AM at the Angel Nuñez Auditorium in San Pedro Town. The consultation is part of the development of a new National Sports Policy and strategic plan intended to guide the country's sporting sector over the next 10 years. The meeting brought together athletes, coaches, school representatives, club officials, and community leaders to share their concerns and ideas for the future of sports in Belize.

Island Heat Classic returns to San Pedro
